Every day thinking
About a different approach
Each one ending in
Feeling like an idiot.
A paralyzing fear
I don't want to go away
Because if it goes away
I know another day has passed
I've missed my chance
And you're well about your way.
You're the reason I'm confused
I don't know what to do
How to handle this new outlook on life.
I try to talk to you
My voice vanishes, and all nerves shut down.
Where did you get these powers?
For five minutes, can't you turn them off?
Whoever you fall for will be
The new "Luckiest man on the face of the Earth"
And there will be many to envy him.
As for this nobody in the meantime
Frustration from fear arises
And frustration from my own cowardice.
I can't even speak to you
You're deserving of better than me.
You're like a goddess
A jewel intersecting
The lives of many;
And I at the lowest
Not worthy of being
In your presence.

Funny how old things seen by new eyes look different!.... re Lucius and Steven. I have certainly had this experience myself - old things I didn't like look OK now and vice-versa. Time and experience alter perception I think.... and, of course, no two people experience one piece of creatine work in the same way. The subjectivity is inescapable. REALLY interesting!

There is such an authentic vulnerability here...I find it beautiful.

Lucius: Actually, this is a poem from freshman year. I didn't really like this one.
