If you are like me and a lot of other people, you may dream about what you would do to help people if you were rich. A lot of us have the desire to help people. The needs of the world are so great, and it can be overwhelming to think about. I see the plights of so many people and often wish that I was rich so that I could help them. But the fact is, that I am not rich. But I can still make a difference and so can you.

You don't have to be Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Bill Gates, or etc. to help people. Many rich and famous people have the funds to help people. But you don't need money to help people. If you can afford to, you can still donate to charities or help someone in need financially. Even one dollar makes a difference. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that one dollar is pointless. Every dollar counts!

If you don't have any money to donate, you can donate your time. There are many ways to help people and make a difference in peoples lives. You can volunteer for charities. Often, charities use the assistance of volunteers to get tasks done. Making a difference doesn't start and end with charitable organizations. Everyday, you are encountered with opportunities to help people. This help can be financial. It can be speaking a kind word. It can be lending a helping hand. We often get so caught up in the way of thinking that charity only happens far from home, in other countries, or through charitable organizations. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Although other countries and charitable organizations need assistance, they are not the only ones. Everywhere you look, people are in need of something. Just one little act of kindness can make a big difference in someones life.

"The rich and famous may donate a lot of money and have the opportunities to go to other countries and help people. What you do in your everyday can be just as important as what they do." Well said. We are so consumed with Brangelina's generosity, we often forget all that the "little people" do. Great piece.
