2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 Review

Solid Family Crossover Offers Style, Roominess, Comfort, and Safety

It's no secret that domestic auto manufacturers are facing some of their toughest challenges ever. But with the 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1, GM rises above the difficult market conditions to deliver a solid Crossover for families. Having just leased one, I can tell you from experience that the
Acadia offers a nice balance of style, roominess, comfort, and safety.

Style

With its bold stance, low profile, and sleek lines, the 2008 GMC Acadia is a fresh, forward-looking interpretation of the family car. Inside you'll find all the amenities of a minivan, bundled in an exterior package more reminiscent of an SUV. Best of all, you can confidently drive this car without sacrificing your sense of style.

Roominess

The 2008 GMC Acadia's exterior styling belies its width and interior roominess. Captain's chairs in the second row provide comfortable seating for adults or kids alike. And while I may never spend much time in the third row, it's good to know that if adults are ever asked to sit in the back, there's ample room. I'm a six-foot-tall guy, and I found the third row leather seats to be plenty comfortable provided that the second row wasn't pushed all the way back.

Comfort

With two automatic sunroofs, XM Satellite Radio, Bose sound system, MP3 jack, and heated leather seats up front, you'll actually feel like an adult driving a luxuriously-appointed car. And when the kids in back don their wireless headsets and tune into the rear-seat DVD player, you can rock out to your own tunes up front. They'll never know.
