It is important for children to have good self confidence. Later down the road it will come in handy when making the right choices and finding the strength to say no and to get through peer pressure.

One of the most important things to have in any child's life is positive role models. Children will act according to the type of people they look up to, they also learn from example. As parents we need to be good role models to our children and make sure that any role models that are entwined in our children's lives are positive.

Let your child try new experiences or new hobbies. When your child discovers something they enjoy or that they are good at it, it will boost there self confidence highly. When you take an active roll in your children's hobbies this will also greatly increase your children's confidence. By supporting and motivating your children you are not only giving them the drive to succeed in what they are doing you are also giving them the support they need to boost their confidence.

Children need to learn that it does not matter about styles of clothing, brands of makeup, top of the line this and that. They need to learn that true happiness and self confidence comes when you are not worried about these types of things and what other people think of you. What you think of yourself is what counts.

Teaching your children that they do not have to follow the current trends but can set there own ideals in motion and do what makes them happy is something that should be a priority in raising children. It is also wise to teach children that body posture places a very big role in self confidence. When your child is off in the corner slumping over this does not scream out that they are a confident person. Teach them to hold there heads high, look directly at people when talking to them and to smile. Giving your children the right tools and teaching them be strong will move them along further in life when they become adults.
