The Best Way to Hide Dark Roots

It's the day before your appointment at the hair salon and you have at least a half an inch of new growth. That afternoon, you find yourself committed to a social function that you cannot get out of. How are you going to hide those dark roots?

You could opt for a hat or scarf, but unless you're commonly seen in either of them, those who know you will realize immediately that you're hiding something. There are also different styling methods if you're good at styling your hair. However, I found a better way.

There are a number of products on the market for a quick fix when it comes to hiding those dark roots and they work very well. I know because I have tried them.

With less than an hour left in the work day, my boss came to me and said, "I need a really big favor. My wife and I are attending a business dinner tonight and a friend of mine just called and said his date canceled."

He knew that I wasn't seeing anyone at the time, which is why he asked. The pleading look on his face told me I had very little choice so naturally, I accepted.

On my way home, I was deciding what to wear when it dawned on me that I had dark roots showing. My first reaction was to call and cancel, but what excuse could I possibly use? This evening was obviously very important to my boss.

While I was going over possible excuses, such as a death in the family, or a terrible illness, I felt convicted in my spirit that I was doing something terribly wrong. As a Christian, I know that lying doesn't send you to hell. Abraham himself, lied about Sarah being his sister, which doesn't make it right, but my conviction wasn't about the lie that I was pondering.

I felt that Jesus wanted me to attend this function. I couldn't tell you why; it was just a feeling. My vanity was preventing me from doing something the Holy Spirit may have been prompting me to do. I began to pray.

I was honest in my prayer as I told the Lord I was available if He was indeed calling me for whatever reason, but that I was feeling insecure about my hair and wanted to be at my best for Him.
