A Variety of Places to Horseback Ride in and Around Boston
As a big city, Boston isn't known for having a lot of spacious land or being horse country. For the equestrian, this can be disheartening news. However, there are a variety of places you can go if you enjoy horseback riding to keep the passion alive and enjoy riding in the area.
Berkshire Horseback Adventures
Located in Berkshire County, these horseback riding services run along the shady trails in Kennedy Park and Lenox Mountain. The horses at Berkshire are very well trained, and you will find that your guide is quite professional as well. If you enjoy trail riding, this is a great place to try out! Throughout the ride on a clear day, you may be able to see both the Catskill Mountains and the Green Mountains.
Berkshire is well known for helping its customers celebrate special occasions while horseback riding. Birthdays, wedding proposals, anniversaries, and romantic dates are a specialty at Berkshire and a great way to show someone you care.
Whether you're a beginner at horseback riding or a lifetime equestrian, Berkshire can accommodate you. (All riders must be 10 years or older, however.) The horseback riding adventure company is open 7 days a week from mid-May through October. Summer is usually pretty busy for Berkshire, so it is a good day to book your ride in advance! Rates here are somewhat expensive. A one-hour is $50 per person. They also offer a half-day journey at $150 and an overnight adventure at $250 per person.
Agawam Riding Stable
Agawam is also open 7 days a week during the spring and summer months. Unlike Berkshire, this horseback riding company offers rides for kids too! Young children have the opportunity to enjoy pony rides and hay rides, the latter of which are in the fall.
Agawam offers only trail rides through beautiful shaded woods nearby. The trail ride you experience would be 1 hour long, with two trail rides being offered every day. The first horseback riding adventure trail begins at 9:30am, and the last is an hour before sunset. This horseback riding stable advises that you make reservations if you are coming in a party of more than 8 people.
