Happy July 6th!July 6th is a special holiday. In fact, every day's a holiday for someone and for some reason.
Although we may not know the origins of many of these holidays, avid celebrants will participate eagerly in marking July 6th as a most special day for so many different reasons.
Here are several of the most popular holidays celebrated on July 6th (arranged alphabetically):
Fried Chicken Day
Homemade, dine-in or take-out, fried chicken is the order of the day on July 6th. This popular poultry is the star of the day. Light meat, dark meat and even chicken nuggets will grace family tables on Fried Chicken Day.
Still, one is given to wonder: What exactly are chicken fingers?
Nothing Day
The origins of this holiday are unknown. There simply is no story. Of course, that makes sense. It's Nothing Day on July 6th.
Perhaps this is your chance to clear the desk and simply put your feet up. Some folks will set their phones on silent and simply ignore those incoming calls. Others will block out their calendars and day-timers.
When someone asks you what you did on July 6th, the answer will be clear.
"Nothing."
Some folks may argue that Nothing Day occurs on January 16th. Perhaps they are also correct. Still, don't we all deserve a little extra down-time, every six months or so?
Old Albums Are Frisbees Day
Got vinyl? Pull out those old 33 rpm albums on July 6th, It's Old Albums Are Frisbees Day. Toss them at the beach or in the backyard. Spin them at the park or by the pool.
Better yet, if those records still play, why not list them online for sale? Those old albums might be worth something!
Peter Rabbit Day
July 6th is Peter Rabbit Day, an occasion for healthy eating and creative presentation of fresh vegetables.
