Review: Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
The car that has brought Ford to another level is here. The American muscle car is back once again. The 2009 Mustang Selby GT500 is a true hot rod at $43,000. The mustang has been with our culture since the 1960's. It has been totally redesigned in 2003 to look similar to the old body
style when it was first introduced. The vehicle has so much horsepower and torque you would not even know where to begin. This sports car is so remarkable it has been rate a 9.8 by MSN consumer review.
This is totally a gas guzzling mean machine. The Mustang has a 5.4 Liter Dual overhead cam engine. The engine is equipped with an 8 cylinder, 32 value supercharger with 500 horsepower. With that much power you will be going 0-60 in the low four seconds. With an engine like that you will only be getting 14 city/20 highway with a 16 gallon tank. Imagine just tapping on the acceleration and flying down the road.
With all that power you are going to need some great handling. The Mustang comes with P285/40R18 96Z tires. That means it comes with a standard 18 inch rims and performance tires. With front independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bar, MacPherson strut front suspension, and solid axle rear suspension you will be able to make turns and driving smoothly.
For your convenience you will have all power in the vehicle. Also includes cruise control, adjustable steering wheel, cup holders, power steering, controls on steering wheel, and front console. Do not forget the air conditioning, alloy trims, door mats, leather seats, and 6 disks CD player with MP3.
When you are going that fast down the road you will need many safety features. The mustang is well equipped in that department. Standard features include front and rear ventilated disc brakes, traction control, passenger airbag, remote anti-theft alarm system, tire pressure monitoring, electronic brakeforce distribution, 4-wheel ABS, dual front with head protection chambers side-mounted airbags and engine immobilizer.
