The glass balls that hang on Christmas trees are always a popular ornament. Rather than hang the plain Christmas glass ball tree ornaments on your Christmas tree, add your own touch to them by using glitter. By adding glitter to the glass balls, this will allow the Christmas lights to reflect the colors of the glitter through the prisms. When you apply the glitter to the glass balls in this article, the different positions of the glitter will cause the reflection of the lights.Materials Needed for the Sparkly Glitter Glass Ball Christmas Ornaments
Glue. Elmer's School Glue will work for this craft project. Any kindergartner will attest to that.
Glitter. All colors of glitter will work for this project. Gold, silver, red, green, and blue should be available individually. Multicolor glitter should be available too. The five colors mentioned before can be used separately or can be mixed in any color combination to create more unique glass ball ornaments.
Plain Christmas Glass Ball Tree Ornaments. Any color of glass ball tree ornaments will work for this craft project. Clear, red, blue, green, gold, silver, and other colors are available in the glass ball ornaments. There are also different sizes available. The Christmas glass ball ornaments from past years can be used.
Tree Ornament Hangers. By using the tree ornament hangers, you can hang the glitter glass ball ornaments up to dry. This will keep the glitter from becoming smashed or distorted.
Clothing hangers. Using the clothing hangers to hang the glass balls to dry will without touching each other.
Sponge Cut Outs. You can use the sponge cuts of animals and letters to create a more festive tree ornament.
Sponge paint brushes. There are wide, narrow, and circular sponge brushes to use for this project. The sponge paint brush will allow you to give the glass balls an even coat of glue. Various sizes and shapes of the sponge brushes can be used to create striping or dots on the glass balls.
Toothpicks. The toothpicks can be used rather than the brushes if you want to create your own designs on the ornaments. The toothpicks will create thinner lines for your designs.
