The other day I found myself feeling a little bit under the weather. I knew it was nothing serious and that it was because of a plugged milk duct, which can sometimes give you flew like symptoms. I was doing everything I knew to get rid of the plugged milk duct and wasn't concerned about it getting worse. The next day I was feeling much better but still was a little be weak and was craving some soup. I had gotten some organic soup for such an occasion and heated up a can of Muir Glen Organic Garden Vegetable Soup to have for lunch. I was not unfamiliar with the Muir Glen brand and had already had a number of their products including their Organic Four Cheese, Organic Tomato Basil, Organic Italian Herb, Organic Fire Roasted Tomato and Organic Garlic Roasted Garlic pasta sauces as well as their basic Organic Tomato Sauce. The soup did not take long to heat up. While it did heat up I sat at my dining room table looking over the can. I was reading it because I wanted to follow the cooking directions for the soup and because I also wanted to know what the nutrition facts were. I couldn't help but feel a little bit guilty that I was eating canned soup as I knew that fresh soup would have been so much more healthier for me. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't feeling up to cutting up vegetables and making a soup from scratch. Still I knew that this soup would offer me at least some good nutrition. The can contained an entire cup of vegetable soup and according to the nutrition facts this equaled two one half cup size servings. In each serving of the Muir Glen Organic Garden Vegetable Soup there is eighty calories with only five calories from fat. There is an entire nine hundred and sixty milligrams of sodium in each serving as well as three grams of both fiber and protein, five grams of sugars and sixteen grams of carbohydrates. In the minerals and vitamins section of this vegetable soup there was four percent for vitamin A, calcium and iron. With the high amount of sodium I wondered what the ingredients were going to be.
