It's easy to talk green, but harder to live green. Living green doesn't have to mean a total life reversal. Psychologist Leo Buscaglia said, 'If you look about you and ask what is there to do, you will be overwhelmed and do nothing. Ask instead, 'what can I do?' That answer is manageable.' Here are 200+ answers to the question, 'How can I live green?' Blessed Mother Theresa said, 'Live simply that others might simply live.' Simple living is green living. Simple living means reduce, reuse, recycle, share, save, donate.

Donate: Live green by sharing with those in need. Keep the earth greener by not cramming landfills with your used stuff.

Donate toys to schools and day care centers.

Donate used clothing to missions.

Donate used clothing to preschools for dress-up.

Donate pillows, blankets and sheets to animal shelters.

Save newspapers and magazines. Donate to school newspaper drives.

Save egg cartons, plastic dishes and containers.

Donate recycled items to schools.

Donate used books to libraries.

Donate stuffed animals to nursing homes for bingo prizes.

Donate your vehicle charity.

Donate your used appliances to shelters.

Check websites for charitable giving options (tax deductible!).

Check websites and newsletters for donation wish lists.

-Libraries

-Senior care homes

-Schools

-Museums

-Churches

-Day care

-Zoos~ yes, I found a wish list for our local zoo! They wanted leftover Halloween pumpkins to give the elephant! Who'd have thunk it?

Donate used eyeglasses to the Lions Club. Your local optometrist has donation boxes.

Donate used cellphones to schools.

Donate used ink cartridges to schools.

Donate your worn out Crocs shoes to Solesunited.org. Your used Crocs will be remade into new shoes for the needy overseas.

2) Reuse/ Recycle/Resell

Resell used items at a yard sale.

Resell items online.

Reuse washcloths for rags.

Reuse rags for stuffing pillows.

Reuse clothing for dress-up.

Reuse plastic grocery bags for trash can liners.

Reuse plastic grocery bags in the car for refuse.

Reuse plastic grocery bags in the diaper bag for to dispose of diapers.

Great ideas, but watch out for feeding scraps to pets! Fatty foods can damage a cat's or dog's pancreas, and chocolate is toxic. Ask your vet what's safe and what isn't before turning Fido into a garbage disposal.
