Bear Spring Mountain is located at eastern end of the Catskill Mountains. This campground takes you back to the basics. Opening in the middle of May, the campgrounds remain open until Labor Day. It is a small campground with only forty one sites. Tents and campers are welcome. Though it is small, it is a great place for bringing families closer. There is a picnic area and swimming beach available for campers to use. You can also rent row boats, canoes and kayaks for use on Launt Pond. No motor boats are allowed on the pond. The campground offers campers the opportunity to purchase firewood, a recycling center and a trailer dump station. For the equine lovers there are twenty-four horse tie stalls and a horse accessible ramp. There are miles of trails for horseback riding. For the avid fisherman, you can either fish in the lake or the stream that runs through the campgrounds, both are full of fish. The beauty of this rustic campground is enough to make any vacation memorable.
