A desktop cutter connects to your computer or works from memory cards or discs. They cut a variety of materials, with some degree of variation from machine to machine, but commonly cut paper, cardstock, vellum, sticker paper, and vinyl. Some machines that are due out in the coming year are even said to cut chipboard the same as their more advanced counterparts used by professionals. With them, you can cut your own titles, shapes, make 3D designs and so much more.

The wireless Xyron Design Runner is a handheld printing device that resembles a computer mouse. It allows a scrap booker to print in places that a normal printer would never work on, including the middle of oversized layouts, on three-dimensional objects, on leather, ribbon, tissue paper, just about anything and anywhere you can imagine. You can also use many of the stencil sets from Fiskars smaller dry embossing tools.
