This simple tic tac toe board takes a Christmas twist with the addition of Christmas Tees and stars in place of the traditional X’s and O’s. Kids can make this simple Tic Tac Board for the holidays and have fun playing with the family over the long school break!

To Make This Simple Christmas Tic Tac Toe Game Board You Will need:

1 Piece of foam board (any color you like)
Green foam board
Yellow foam board
Exacto Knife
Scissors
Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter
Star Shaped Cookie Cutter
Self adhering Velcro (optional)
Black Marker
Puff Paint or Ribbon and Hot Glue

Now, the first step is to buy your foam board. I recommend red foam board, but almost any color besides green or yellow will do!

Now, lay your Christmas tree shaped cookie cutter out on the green foam board. Have the kids trace out some tree shapes. They can make about ten, just so there are some extras incase they get lost.

Repeat this step laying the star shaped cookie cutter on the yellow foam board.

Now, clearly you can make any shapes you want. The kids can also free hand their Christmas tree and star shaped pieces. They could also use other cookie cutters like candy canes and angels.

Now, use a ruler to measure how tall and wide your tree and star shapes are.

Times this by at least four and that is how wide and tall your red foam board game board needs to be. So, if your Christmas trees and stars are 3x4 inches, you tic tac toe game board should be at least 12 inches by 16 inches.

Now, trace out your tic tac toe grid onto the foam board. Use the ruler and your magic marker. Make the squares big enough to hold the game piece you made.

Now, I like to add some depth to the tic tac toe game board by using some glittery puff paint to retrace the lines. You could also cut some ribbon to size and glue it over the lines. You could also run a bead of white glue and then sprinkle on some glitter. The choice Is yours, but be creative!

Now, you can add ay decorations around the edge of the game board that you want. I think squiggling a lien of glue around the edge like bric a brac ribbon and then sprinkling on some glitter super cute!
