Nashville's Lights of the Holiday Season
The city of Nashville has never been shy about displays and the Christmas season is one huge patchwork of lighting displays, celebrations, parades and fanfare. The Christmas season here has not entirely succumbed to that politically correct, nomenclature, "the Holiday season," either. Nashville has plenty of nativity displays and so much to see and wonder at in this southern city. The Holidays are not just about frantic shopping and hectic dinner parties, etc., nor should they be. I’ve compiled a few events that are all about watching and taking in the beauty and festivity of the season.

Who doesn’t love a parade? In most large cities, Christmas and this season wouldn’t be complete without it. Nashville is no exception. Nashville Gas has teamed with Southeast Financial Credit Union to present the 53rd annual Nashville Gas Christmas Parade, a true season tradition in this town. Floats roll down Broadway under holiday lights brightening the city, interspersed with marching bands putting on their best with music of the season. The parade begins Friday, Dec. 1st at 7th and Broadway, heading slowly east to 2nd Ave. and then on to the Coliseum. Parade kicks off at 7:00 p.m. so come bundled and ready for the music and crowds.
