Sometimes you need to get away from the ritual and predictability of your routine and go somewhere and simply have fun. Well, there is a perfect place to party if you like blues and jazz. There is a resplendent place for people who like to get on the dance floor and shake off all the stress, anxiety, and pressure of their daily lives. There is a place where the food is remarkably unique and the people have the impressing ability to bounce back from tragedy. Where else on earth can you get an order of crawdads and wash them down with a nice tall hurricane? No where but New Orleans- of course. Crawdads are also known as crawfish or crawfish. They are a freshwater treat and they look similar to a small lobster; however, the taste is uniquely different from that of a lobster. Also, the Hurricane that you wash the crawdads down with is a New Orleans specialty as well. The Hurricane cocktail dates back as far as World War II. This drink was concocted at a famous bar called Pat O'Brien's. The drink is named after the shape of a hurricane lamp. Hurricanes are a combination of light rum, dark rum, passion fruit juice, orange juice, grenadine, and a little syrup. One sip of this special creation and you will know why it's called a Hurricane.

"Laissez Le Bon Ton Roulez," or as the rest of America says, let the good times roll! I lived in Louisiana for 5 years and I loved the food, the people and The French Quarter. I love Atlanta but living 40 minutes from New Orleans was the most fun I've had in a long time. Great piece, I can't wait for Thanksgiving so I can go back.
