It is morning time and your up having your cup of coffee. What else are you doing? Maybe watching the news or reading the morning paper? Wouldn't it be great if instead of that you had a nice quite, comfortable spot in your home that is all yours and you could sit down and read your Bible and have a great morning stared with a devotional and prayer. If you are like me you don't have many quite moments to yourself. But usually sometime during the day I can manage to carve out a little time to be alone. If you spend some of this time in reading and praying you will be so blessed for it. I find that it calms and relaxes me before or perhaps after a long stressful day. Christians know that they should give part of their day to God but I think alot of us settle for what little bit of prayer we can get in at night as we are nodding off to sleep. And also many don't crack open their Bible until Sunday morning at church. So if you would like to start spending more time with the lord, I suggest making a nice spot in your house to do so. So here are some tips on how to carve out your own nice cozy corner.First things first. Find your spot! Maybe the living room is too busy, and of course the kitchen is always a high traffic area. But what about your dining room or I find that going in the bedroom and closing the door is a good signal that you need to be left alone for awhile. So choose a nice spot, get a comfy chair and a small side table and your on your way.
Next let's think about smell. How about adding a fragrance to your corner? decorate with pleasant smelling fresh flowers or use a lamp ring with a few drops of fragrant oil. Or if you like me you love candles! Different shapes, sizes, smells. They are fun to shop for as well as great smelling and relaxing. That gentle flicker of the flame calms my spirit. So I definitely recommend a candle for your side table. Just don't forget to be careful and keep it away from any curtains or material and blow it out when you get up.
