It may be true that right-wing extremist are no more loony than left-wing extremists, but they sure have bigger mouths. The quartet of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, for example, surged to giddy heights under the aegis of the Bush administration when their collective vulgar volume raised the roof-tops. Simultaneously, their rabid mouth-frothing lowered the dignity of the Republican party. One can remember a day when Republicans were viewed as well-mannered, polite, thoughtful, prudent people. Made you kind of aspire to be like them. Well, not quite. But you didn't'[t necessarily want to ring their necks. Today the loudest Republican voices (and boy are they loud) virtually wet themselves with excitement every time they eviscerate someone who agrees to be their "idiot" of the moment. Seems they can't wait to crow about the rapier like tongue lashings they gave some poor guy who thought he would be treated fairly. With call-screeners to run interference, producers to feed fodder into ear-pieces and the all-important cut-off button, those screeching hosts are indeed a tough bunch of cowpokes who can swagger with the best of them. Here's the thing - it's always about themselves - how smart they are, how righteous they are, how quick-witted they are.

Why you guys waste your time with this nut case Stormy Malone, she wouldn't know anything about politics if it hit her in the face and she mad about all the Republican pundits because people actually listen to them and the Democrats can't pay anybody to listen to them, Obama what a joke.

Are you telling me that your husband was a communist sympathizer?? If your implying that there was 2 sides to that story in his letters. Also you are right when it seems that it's all about me, of course it is. If government says and does things that harm me or my family personally like overtaxing thereby negating my last raise, overreaching regulations, government handouts, you damn right its about me.

Miss Malone: You're wrong on nearly every point you advance, but that's not why I am commenting. I take issue with your comment "Slasher man - (nice name-kind of proves my point about Republican mindset)." Slasher is not called that because of his obvious Right Wing hate syndrome (jus' joshin' ya Slash!). No, Slash is a Brother Biker! We hardcore scooter tramps all have nicknames and Slasher is his Brother name, just like my real name is Jim but the Brothers know me as Bluto because I look like Popeye's friend. So, to try to associate Slash man as some evil right wing nut really ruins your argument. And like Slash said, you're a fine writer, but your left wing bend is showing. Still, ya can't beat getting views and comments on an article that's coming up on two years old. Oh, and you're gonna be so mad when your Messiah gets his ass whipped in November. Too bad, too sad. If you've never lost an argument, then I suggest you have never listened with an open mind. Oh, I forgot, you are all little gods in your own minds. The humility is so lacking. Your emails are all about you and how great you are. OK - you win. You can add me to your list of conquered idiots. You win because people are smart enough to walk away from an irrational mind when it confronts them. That's why drunks win every argument. What a silly boast you make. BTW, I have 20 years on you and my husband was a combat veteran and Captain in Nam. Maybe one of these days I will publish his letters and you will learn something about looking at two sides of an issue.

I really don't care for the leprechaun. I am however curious. How did you personally suffer under the Bush administration? The country enjoyed oof the best gdp growth in us history. The lowest unemplyment rate in the past 4 decades. We haven't been attacked again since 911. I had a 1,200 tax reduction. I'm paying my mortgage laughingly yet I only make around 40 a yr. I've got 4 cars and 3 brand new motorcycles. I've been at the same job for 11 years and under clinton only 40 hrs a week, no overtime and 4 dropyards full of returned rental trailers (semis) Under Bush we released 3 of the 4 drop yards and are enjoying 85% utilization. Why on earth would I want to change from this back to what was? Welath redistribution, tax hikes and socialized medicine is not the type of change I'd wish for. You know there was once a new young charismatic leader that promised change, he was called castro, and look what he changed that country to. A majority poor society, no work, no hope.

And another thing ms malone. Name one conservative talk show host that yells and screams on the air. Hannity is well spoken and humble. He, as Rush both thank God for their talents and Sean always but always says on the air that it is the listeners that keep him on the radio, because if we don't listen, then there are no ratings and he's out of a job. When a lib gets on they can't stay focused on any one topic because when trhey get called on it they dismiss the counterpoint and move on to other issues. Personally I have never lost a left vs right argument, whether it be here on AC or in person. See the difference between you and me is that I've lived the life that leftists pine for. like communism and socialism, you fools have no clue as to what your wishing for, I do however. My family risked life and limb to come to America and now 40+yrs later your trying to turn this place into what I fled from. Name one liberal idiology that's ever worked as intended, just one.

Then why the whining from the McCain camp that the media is against them - boo hoo. It's all the Media hype!!!! You can't have it both ways. And if you haven't noticed O'Reilly scurrying to the center to save his derriere, then you haven't been paying attention. I do agree that there is unnecessary bile fomenting on the left, just as on the right. But I don't hear it on every station on the radio - all I hear is the Right wing nut jobs struttin' their stuff and duping their listeners. Sure they have lots of listeners - there are a lot of gullible, scared people in this country to prey upon. Well, Go for it slasher. Enjoy the election! We suffered through 8 years of Bush; now you can suffer through 8 years of Barack. And I'm going to love it.

Ms Malone, your article is flawed on almost all points. Conservatives don't froth at the mouth when they opine. Fox news and fox radio is dropping in ratings? Just because you say so does not make it so. FofNews consistantly and by a huge margin wipes up every cable news channel. Check out Orbitron for radio ratings and you will see that all rightwing radio by far outrank any and all air america radio. Do you know why? Because no one wants to hear the real "vile" rhetoric coming out of their speakers and hence no sponsorships, no money. That's why one staion after another is going by the wayside. While this article is several yrs old. I can tell you that the reason we lost some seats is because those senators became RINOs. The demrats that won had to run as moderates (like webb in VA.) and slightly right of center. I've read a few of your other articles, you write very well, until you start to politicize. There, your naivity comes through, Also favorating mussall just proves my point.

Heather, speaking of getting the whole story right, did you hear the whopper about Barack Obama being raised as a terroist in a madrassa? The "truthfully challenged" rightwing press strikes again. Newsweek has a great article about the hoax and the shameful reporting of the right.

They do nothing for the Republicans. All they do is tout of their nonsense, their "opinions" that aren't based on any fact whatsoever, and refuse to hear the other side's point of view or take it seriously. They don't even get the whole story before reporting.
