It is very possible to get that just went to the salon hair at home. Whenever you get out of the salon, it always seems like they are able to give your hair a blowout ten times better than you ever do at home. But, it is possible to get that salon worthy blowout at home. It just takes some time and patience and the right directions.

The Tools You Will Need:

Clips
Ceramic or ionic blow-dryer
Paddle brush
Heat styling cream
Finishing cream
Straightening iron

1. Shampoo and condition your hair with a shampoo that makes your hair sleek and non-frizzy. Look for silicone in the ingredients for a good shampoo and conditioner.

2. Gently pat your hair dry with a towel. You should never rub your hair dry with a towel. Rubbing your hair with a towel will cause damage to the cuticles and will cause frizzy hair (which no one wants).

3. Rub heat styling cream into your hands and then apply the cream starting at the ends of the hair and working your way up to the roots of the hair. For short hair, you will need approximately a dime-sized amount of cream, for medium to long hair a quarter-sized amount will do.

4. Use a paddle brush to brush and blow dry your hair, piece by piece. Make sure that your hair is still damp, and not too wet or too dry.

5. Once your hair is almost dry, you will need to use clips to clip up the top of your hair. You should clip up everything above your ears to begin with.

6. Start blow drying the back of your hair, as you work your way forward and up. You should do the pieces around your face last. Make sure that you are working on small sections of hair at a time and using the brush to pull your hair tautly. The nozzle on the hair dryer should be facing down, so that the air shoots down parallel to the hair strands. This will save you from damaging the cuticle and making the hair frizzy.

7. Apply a finishing cream to your the palms of your hand and rub them together. Apply the cream to your hair starting in the back and underside of the hair. Do not apply it to the roots, but concentrate on the ends of the hair.

I could practice for 20 years and still never look like I do when I walk out of the salon. My best bet is to not wash my hair until my next haircut : )
