In passing I happened to stumble across the Antioch Water Park. We checked it out one Saturday and I was shocked by the cheap $9.00 a person price! Now, it's no Raging Waters but it has all of the necessities. There are water slides, separate pool areas and snack bars. It's a great place to reserve a picnic area for a birthday party of which they offer discounts. My husband and my daughter took on the slides while I relaxed and sunbathed on one of the many chaise lounges that were available on the grass. This is a great place to get away from the more crowded parks. You also will not find a lot of teenagers hanging around looking for trouble. www.ci.antioch.ca.us/citysvcs/prewett/If you prefer more excitement, then Waterworld in Concord is a fun place to go. Beware, in the peak of summer this is a very crowded park and you will find yourself waiting in long lines for the popular water slides. You can rent out a cabana for $100.00 a pop for more privacy. They offer shade which work great for birthday parties and if you plan on hanging around there all day. They have a great wave pool that simulates the feel of actually being in the ocean. They have a lot of Lifeguards on hand but you'll need to keep an extra eye on the little ones in this pool. They offer shopping, an arcade and a variety of food courts/stands. You'll never be bored at Waterworld!

Boomers Sparks in Livermore is a fun change of pace. This is definitely a place for the whole family. They have bumper boats, go-karts, miniature golf, lazer tag, arcade and a cafe. On the weekends you can get an all day wrist-band for $27.99. Sounds pricey but it give you access to ALL of the attractions ALL day that you would normally have to pay extra for. This is a one stop shop for fun.

In Brentwood there is a skate park for the young skaters out there. It has bowls, ledges, rails and boxes amongst others. Bring your helmets and your knee pads! www.ci.brentwood.ca.us/emotion/Facilities/FacilitiesDetail.asp
