For anyone who knows about me and my short-lived relationships with wireless phones know that it is used for more than just talking. Any and every phone that I own must allow me to send text messages and send crazy pictures back and forth between people in my contacts list. I also believe it is important to have great reception but even more important for me to be able to send a discreet text message about someone’s distasteful outfit.

The Kyocera Strobe provides all of this and more.

Inexpensive. Whereas most mobile phones can cost you an arm and leg, the Kyocera Strobe at suggested retail price is $234.99 but with my new Alltel account and a two-year agreement, I paid right under $50 for it! Great deal!

Bluetooth-enabled. With the law being enforced in most major cities that cell phone users much use a headset or a built- in speakerphone while driving, the Kyocera Strobe provides both capabilities. And what makes this an even better phone is that it has the capability to be used with a Bluetooth headset.

Unique design. Most mobile phone users prefer the flip style, where it can “flipped” open and will expose the number pad. The Kyocera Strobe takes it another step further. Flip this bad girl open and viola’! A hidden QWERTY keyboard! This feature makes creating and sending text much more user-friendly for the text messaging novice.

Slightly smaller than a deck of cards but just as entertaining, the Kyocera Strobe makes it easier for people who utilize their phones for more than just talking but for text, picture and e-mail communication.

The integrated antenna prevents users from having to deal with a thin, bendable plastic rod but still provides excellent coverage.

Customizable. It is not often that I can walk into the store or down the street and not hear the latest hit song playing from someone’s cell phone. With the Kyocera Strobe, you can download several ringtones, screensavers and games to make your phone all your own.

As much I enjoy the features of the Kyocera Strobe, it does have its downside.
