Does John McCain's Military Record Really Qualify Him to Be President?
I'm so sick of hearing about McCain's POW "stories" and how that experience makes him qualified to be president. In my opinion, I don't think he has the mental capacity to be our leader. If I'm not mistaken, when you are a POW, not are you physically beat up, but you are emotionally scarred for life. The outcome of such torture can damage your psyche and maybe even memory. Just ask yourself, "Do I really want this man, who doesn't know what he's talking about, being president?" He keeps flip flopping on issues, such as IRAQ. First he says he wants the troops to stay there for "100 years." Now all of a sudden he's stating that he wants bring the troops home. I think he's just trying to keep up with Obama because he is now realizing how important this is to people. It's all show and I don't think he's sincere about this issue.
Well, I decided to look up some info on post traumatic stress disorder to get a feel of what this is and how it can affect you.
Being a POW could possibly bring on PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), which is defined as:
..an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to one or more terrifying events in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. It is a severe and ongoing emotional reaction to an extreme psychological trauma. This stressor may involve someone's actual death or a threat to the patient's or someone else's life, serious physical injury, or threat to physical and/or psychological integrity, to a degree that usual psychological defenses are incapable of coping. In some cases it can also be from profound psychological and emotional trauma, apart from any actual physical harm. Often, however, the two are combined... Vietnam vet took initiative and spoke on the matter at the Town Hall in Denver, CO.
