When looking at the way that the economy has gone in the last few years, many people have looked towards graduate programs to revitalize the skills they have. One of the main avenues of interest for people has been attending a MBA program. This has led to great competition for slots at prestigious schools, with many having acceptance rates only slightly higher than fifteen percent. If you are looking at MBA schools, you should focus upon presenting your credentials in a consistent manner. This article will talk about this along with the letter of recommendation specifically. All of your materials need to be presented in a consistent manner so that you have the same message. Most of your materials will have a consistent message since you will be gathering and writing most of the information yourself. Where a difference in message can begin to happen is with the letter of recommendation. This occurs because you are asking other people to write these letters. You should work to provide all of the materials you write and gather to these recommenders so that they can emphasize the points you are making to the MBA admissions people.
When looking for recommenders, you want to find people who will write a letter of recommendation specifically to you. This list can include current supervisors, past supervisors and potentially academic professors from your college. You will want to choose people who are able to point to specific examples of what you have done along with being good at writing. It has already been discussed that you want to give your materials to the recommenders. Talk with them about your expectations for the letter so that the consistency of message can be maintained.
Time frame must be very important as well. Getting a Stanford MBA or Harvard MBA is contingent upon having good materials and getting everything in by the deadline. Give at least a month for your recommenders to write your letters of recommendation for MBA admissions programs. Consistently following up with your recommenders can allow you to be on schedule and keep your recommenders in line so that you can send everything in before the deadline.
