This is a review of arguably the best Italian restaurants in the Los Angeles area. Arguably because this is one of the things that residents of LA love to do the most; Argue about which is the best. Since most of these restaurants change the menu at least twice a year, and some much more often, the truth is that who is the best probably changes every 4 to 6 months.

The restaurant that has to be listed first, Valentinos. This is because this restaurant has been in business continually for over 35 years. For any restaurant that is remarkable. For an upscale Italian restaurant it is a miracle.

Valentino
Despite being so famous and in the upper atmosphere of price, with an 8 out of 10 on a cost scale, Valentinos does also offer small plates and A $35 plate. This in deference to the Hollywood crowd that is often working hard to keep fit or get down in weight for a next new part in a movie. The wine list is 130 plus pages long and is more than most patrons can wade through. Lobster Salad is a specialty. Salmon in black sauce is reported to be so excellent it brings tears to some originally from Italy. A wide range of meat dishes is offered as well with honey spiced pork a very popular favorite of some. Fantastic cheeses and orange tarts are choice for after dinner.

The rest of our recommendations are not in any particular order.

Angelini Osterial is located on Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles.
On the cost scale they are a 6 out 10.
The restaurant is itself very small but there is nothing diminutive about the quality and taste of the food offered. Lunches are special here with a great choice of pizza, pastas and a super half-chicken offering. At night it's full fare Italian from Antipasti through various courses till a special ending of Pears Red Cow. In between all that is the best green lasagna we eve had anywhere. Specials every night depending on what is found fresh at the market or meat shop.
