As great as magazines are, they usually just end up getting thrown out in the garbage or sent to the recycling center. However, some people decided to take them and turn them into fabulous items. Not only is it great for the environment, but the magazines are turned into items that look good around the home. It's unbelievable what a couple of hundred pages of a magazine destined for the trash can be turned into. A clutch made from recycled magazines
The clutch, found on wondersoftheworld.net, is made by using a weaving technique. A protective enamel covers the clutch and it has a silver clasp. Each clutch is unique, is made in Brazil and is a fair trade product. The bag measures 8" x 5 1/2" and has a 31" detachable chain strap. The price is currently $160.00.
Recycled Magazine Mirror
Urbanoutfitters.com currently sells a mirror that has its border made from recycled magazines. The recycled magazine pieces are rolled, attached to the frame of the round mirror and are then sealed. There is a hook on the back so that the mirror can be attached to the wall. The price is currently $52.00.
Recycled magazine coasters
The recycled magazine coasters, which can be found on 3rliving.com, come in a set of six and are made in Vietnam. The price of the coasters is currently $18.00.
Recycled magazine bracelet
The recycled bracelets are handmade and can currently be found on etsy.com under user Buffalex23. The magazine pieces are woven together to form each bracelet. The price is currently $2.00 each.
Recycled Magazine Placemats
Organicstyle.com currently sells a set of four handmade placemats that are made from recycled magazines. Each placemat measures 22" x 13". This product is not only eco-friendly, but it will be sent in eco-packaging. The price is currently $32.47.
Decorative Recycled Magazine Bowl
The bowl is made out of recycled magazine coils and measures 3 1/2" tall and 7" wide. It cannot be used, it is purely a decorative bowl. The bowl can currently be found on etsy.com under user funkychickendesign. It currently costs $15.00.
