What made Billy Bob Thornton so darn irresistible to Angelina Jolie? What’s his history? These are questions that I’d like to find answers to. So, while writing this biographical article so others can read, I am actually researching Billy Bob for to gain more personal knowledge of his life. Without further a due, let’s find out who Billy Bob Thornton is.

Billy Bob Thornton was born August 4, 1955 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Billy Bob was a chubby baby. He has stated, "I was the fattest baby in Clark County. They put me in the paper. I was like a prize turnip".

His father was named Billy Ray, and he was a hot-tempered man of Irish descent. He was also a High School history teacher and basketball coach. He later died from lung cancer when Billy Bob was 18.

His mother, Virginia Faulkner Thornton, was half-Italian and half-Choctaw Indian. She was a psychic and big influence on her son. When he was younger, she predicted that Billy Bob would work with Burt Reynolds and win an Oscar.

Billy Bob Thornton spent his first few years living with 15 other family members in his grandfather’s shack in the woods near Alpine. His grandfather was a forest ranger, and for meals, the family would eat what he shot, whether it be deer or possum. There was no running water or electricity, and they would read by the light of coal-oil lamps.

After a few years there in the woods, the family relocated to Malvern. There, Billy Bob gained an interest in music - rock music. At the age of 9 he received his first drum-kit, and his first public performance was at a PTA meeting where he played The Ballad Of The Green Berets. Later, he formed a band, The McCoveys, named after Wille McCovey, a black baseball star with the San Francisco Giants. Then, a few years later with his new high school band called Stone Cold Fever, the musicians pounded out hits of Credence Clearwater Revival.
