Who Should I Vote For? Obama or McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election?

There are many reasons to choose either John McCain or Barak Obama in the 2008 presidential election. Both Barak Obama and John McCain offer interesting possibilities. Each of them promises to improve the situation in our country, but whose situation will be improved the most? John McCain seems to be interested in helping wealthier Americans. Barak Obama seems to want to help those of us who are les well off. Where do you fall?

I am not going to tell you who to vote for. I am going to give you some financial questions to ask yourself and you can make the decision.

Do you make more than $250000 a year?

Only 3% of all Americans make more than a quarter million dollars a year according to an article on the AARP web site. That's not many of us.

McCain promises to keep taxes low for the richest Americans. That's nice.

If Obama is elected, he promises to keep taxes low for those who make less than $250000 a year-that's me!--while allowing taxes to go up for the richest Americans. Obama will also raise the social security tax for the richest Americans.

Are you expecting a rich uncle to die and leave you some money? Obama will ask for nearly half of anything over $3.5 million. $3.5 million is a lot of money. McCain will let you keep $5 million before he starts asking for his taxes.

Isn't $3.5 mill enough? I don't know about you, but I don't know any one who's gonna leave me even 3.5 million dollars.

Do you own a corporation? McCain promises to cut taxes for business owners.

Obama says he'll raise taxes on items like home sales, but only if you make over $500000. He'll tax your stock earnings, but he'll get rid of taxes for senior citizens who make under $50000 a year, and he'll give a $500 tax credit to any one making under $75000 a year.

The bottom line is that If you are rich, one of the 3% of Americans who make over a quarter million dollars each year, you should vote for McCain. If you are middle or low income, like 97% of us, Obama will save you money in this difficult economy.
