San Francisco, California -- Something new and interesting happening in San Francisco for 2008 in putting President Bush's name on a San Francisco sewage plant which has actually qualified for the November ballot, according to the Associated Press.

The measure certified Thursday would rename the once Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.

Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind by actions such as the war in Iraq.

Many personally find this hilarious, although may have nothing personal against him. However many also believe he hasn't done the most efficient job either. Local Republicans say that the idea "stinks" and will be opposing the bill in November.

I interviewed with some U.S. citizens to find out their views and what they had to say on the topic;

"Couldn't think of a more perfect way to 'honor' him. Maybe he could build his library overlooking the 'reflection' pool." -Mary Thomas, 34, a local supporting the ballot.

"I think it is a rude, disgrace to even come up with such a thing, this nation would be no better off any how, to blame it on our President is where we went wrong." --Tyler Michaels, 47 of Dallas, TX.

"Oh my, probably the funniest thing I have heard today. Well I doubt it will happen, but if it does, we will all get a good laugh." -Sandra Glenn, 25 of Boise, ID.

"I am on the fence on that one, I think it is funny, yet at the same time I wouldn't want my name up there. But when you're famous you got to take in the good with the bad, now being President he is supposed to do a job that a lot of us feel he didn't do at all or at least very well. I think most will get a great laugh on this one if it happens, I sure will." -William Oppenheimer, 27 of Boise, ID.

"Whether you are for or opposing this bill, in the end I do believe you must have a sense of humor to at least smirk or laugh when you hear the idea. I wish I could see the look on his face when he hears this, especially if it goes through." -Benny Collins, 30 of Dallas, TX.

This is pretty interesting. And, of course, it seems to fit. The nation doesn't have as much respect for their leaders, these days, because there hasn't been much too respect. Too bad we can't have more George Washingtons and Abe Lincolns.
