The more we live and see the degradation of society, it is apparent to notice that men are sinners to the core. Take a look at your life: the thoughts you have, the inclinations that bud inside of you with all its festering ills awaiting to be acted upon without concern for anyone or anybody. It easy to point at the murder, the child rapist, the business executive who swindles customers out of thousands of dollars. But when we look at our daily lives that is always a stagnant fact that we, without the aid of a divine grace, are entirely wicked beyond degree.

Point one, our thoughts. Indeed we have good thoughts. We hope to follow Walt Disney's theme in Peter Pan to "think of happy thoughts". However far too often we turn aside to hating one person or at the least pridefully holding a grudge for no worthy reason. All people are hopeless for we constantly find ourselves doing good with evil standing right along side us. Humans need a covering; an presence that eats the wickedness that we produce on a daily basis. The worst of it is that you may think you have done nothing wrong or haven't done as bad as the next joker walking down the street or in the mall. Nevertheless you have; it is displayed in you speech, it is displayed in your treatment of your acquaintances; even you treatment of your loved ones. We all do it; there is no reason out of it.

If all is hopeless, is there any hope? Hope is always available, but men usually are not. They want to be helped; many see that they have done wrong and continually do it, but when you tell them to repent of their sins, believe in your heart that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and without Him you will end up forever in Hell, you get the look of indignation; the gesture of indifference; or the flat our rejection to the cure itself. Humans are apt to pursue weaker means of attaining that divine plain: they read books telling them that they are great, they listen to messages proclaiming that you have the power in yourself to get to God; and for the rest of their lives feed on emaciated wisdom that can help no one---not even the minds behind it.
