It is not often that my husband and I get to go out and spend some time together alone. However on our anniversaries my mom will usually watch the kids and allow us to go away together for at least a night. We will usually spend that night at a hotel some place relatively close to home. On our last anniversary we spent an evening at the Champagne Lodge and Luxury Suites in Willowbrook, IL. Willowbrook is Located approximately 20 minutes from Chicago. The Lodge is only 5 minutes from Oakbrook, IL , which is a very industrious suburb that is also the home of the popular Oak Brook Terrace Mall.My husband used to work with some people who lived in that area and they suggested the Champagne Lodge and Luxury suites as a place to go for a romantic evening.
The Champagne Lodge and Luxury Suites is an all suites Hotel. There are 38 different suites in all. When we entered the rock brick lobby we were assisted immediately by a friendly staff member. The staff member explained the suites to us and offered us the services of the concierge. The lobby was homey yet sophisticated.
After checking in we decided to check out our suite. Each suite is actually in its own private villa type location. When we entered our suite we were quite impressed. It is obvious the suites were designed with romance in mind. The walls were a dark beige color, and the bed had a mirror located directly behind it.
There was a small wet area that included a small refrigerator and microwave. The bed was covered with a light colored bed spread and had a very nice mattress; not too firm and not too soft.
When we entered the room my eyes almost immediately went to the very large hot tub located not so far from the bed, I knew we were up for a very interesting evening. My husband's eyes went directly to the flat screen Plasma television. You would have thought he had died and gone to heaven when he realized that the television had a surround sound system. There was also a DVD and CD player. For those interested there Is also Wi-Fi access, but if you are in this room with your Sweetheart and all you can think about is logging on well then you have a serious problem my friend.
