Parking at one of the busiest airports in the world, O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, can be a challenge. Follow this guide to make the O'Hare parking life easier.

The easiest way to travel to O'Hare is with public transportation. However, many people prefer to drive. The problem with O'Hare, as with many airports, is that simply parking your car and walking into the airport is not that easy. However, O'Hare has tried to make parking as convenient as possible.

O'Hare International Airport has three different parking lots - Economy, Main and International.

Before you drive to O'Hare International Airport it is important for you to decide which parking lot you wish to park in.

The Economy Lot

If you decide on the Economy lot, this is the lot that is the farthest away from the airport. If you are okay with that, you can save money at the Economy lot. The lot is further divided by letters and payment is different for each letter.

Lot E is $16.00 a day

Lot G is $13.00 a day

Lot F is $9.00 a day

At O'Hare Airport, Lot F is the farthest away.

As with all the lots at O'Hare, you cannot book parking for the Economy lot ahead of time. It is first come first serve, but there is always plenty of parking in at least one of the Economy lots. Pay for your parking when you exit. O'Hare takes cash or credit cards.

This bit of information is very important. Don't park your car at one of the Economy lots and then go to Paris for three months! Your car will be towed after thirty days if you do not make arrangements with O'Hare.

How do you get to the Airport from lots E, F or G? By Train. However, with the lot that is the farthest away , lot F, you have to take a shuttle bus and then the train. So, allow for plenty of time. The bus and the trains are free, the parking is not. If you're parking in lot F, allow at least an hour to get to the terminal. If you're parking in lots G and E, allow at least 45 minutes.

The Main Lot

If you've got more money to spend and if you want convenience, the Main lot is where you would park your car. It gives you easy access to terminals 1, 2 and 3 of O'Hare Airport.
