Over the years of reading different books and different genre, I have found it completely astonishing of who has made it to the movies from their books and who has not. There are times that I often wish that I could pop in one of those books and watch it on the television. With the abundance of my library, I would have many hours of viewing if this were possible. Johanna Lindsey, that I am aware of, has not made it to the movies. Generally speaking, I am unsure if this is on her own choice or never been brought to the table for her as an opportunity. I have been reading Johanna Lindsey books since I was a teenager. The stories of how the women are stubborn, strong and independent fiery individuals attracted me immediately. I began to relate with them immensely.
Some that I have questioned this problem have made mention that the movies would rate in the rated R, or XXX. However, beyond the racy, steamy page turning sexual chase that Johanna Lindsey gives us, she also gives us great triumphant of love.
The general formula for Johanna Lindsey is the free spirited woman meets with an equally free spirited and stubborn man. The man usually tries to teach the woman the domination over women and how a woman should behave. The ladies of Johanna Lindsey usually do not willingly fit these men's formula and the fight is on.
Johanna Lindsey is my choice for the next romance movie, especially based off the Malory series.
Margaret Weis is another author that I have not noticed has made it to the big screen. This is a woman that is deeply influential in the fantasy world, but never read a speck of fantasy novels herself. This is a woman that took part of the Dragon lance series, the dungeon and dragons world and many other influential's in the fantasy world.
I have seen many fantasy movies that I had hoped would please me as much as reading a Margaret Weis book, but the ones that can even become close are the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Yes, JRR Tolkien has long been waiting to receive recognition, but I feel that Margaret Weis does deserve some recognition as well.
