Where to Get Your Caffeine Fix Now that a Shakopee Starbucks is Closing

MINNEAPOLIS -- Starbucks announced on July 1 that they will close approximately 600 company-operated stores. 27 of those stores are in Minnesota. Only California had more store closures. A July 17 press release indicated that

the stores will be closing by the end of this month. There may have been more of a revolt if the stores were closing in the winter. Now that there is warm weather in Minnesota, customers can make alternate plans to find that perfect cup of coffee.

Suburbanites who live or work in Shakopee have gotten used to big name retailers opening stores in recent years. The opening of the 169 freeway made getting to Shakopee from Minneapolis a breeze. Shakopee has had some other store closings in the past, for instance, Rainbow Foods and K-Mart. Starbucks will be closing the store located at 1539 17TH AVE E.

Coffee lovers who live or work in Shakopee probably know about where most of the coffee shops are. If you are a die-hard Starbucks fan, there is another Starbucks located in Savage:

I was in total shock to learn that the Starbukcs in my neighborhood was on the list of 600. I reside in a city of about 200,000 and we have quite a few Starbucks around town, yet our very own was not spared. I just made a site taking a poll on who's being affected and how they feel. I'm interested in your feedback about the possibility of voicing all of our concerns to the Starbucks headquarters to see if they maybe reconsider. Hey...you never know until you try. save-starbucks,com
