When I tried the new Quaker Simple Harvest Instant Multigrain Hot Cereal in the Maple & Brown Sugar with Pecan flavor, fell in love. I couldn't wait to go out and try the other flavors, which are the Apples & Cinnamon, and the product I am reviewing for you today, Vanilla Almond & Honey.

Description

Just looking at the box, you know there is something different about this, it certainly doesn't look like the typical box of Quaker Oatmeal. This box is much longer and shorter, measuring 9 1/2" long. The box is mostly white with yellow writing, and of course the signature picture of the Quaker above the brand name. There is a small clear plastic window in the box that allows you to see what the contents of the packets look like, and the back of the packets are also packaged with a clear see through plastic.

The box shows some almonds with honey dripping off of them, and reads that it is all natural, and that it is naturally flavored. We also learn from the box that this not only contains oats, but it also adds wheat and barley. The back of the box reads that this cereal contains no artificial preservatives or flavors.

What I Think of This Hot Cereal

Although this is a good and tasty hot cereal, much better than plain oatmeal, I love the Maple & Brown Sugar with Pecans so much more! I followed the directions and added "slightly less than 1/2 cup of boiling water", but my cereal was still way too soupy. I added it to the microwave for 40 seconds and this made it get all puffed up in the center, but it did thicken it up.
