I joined MySpace over a year ago. I thought it would be a great place to advertise my content at Associated Content. Instead, it has turned out to be a place to build new friendships and reunite with old friends. It has become an online social hotspot for all ages, young and old.

As a single mother of three children, most of my time is spent caring for my children, or entertaining them. I don't have much time to build a social life. However, MySpace has become an online venue for meeting friends. I have made some long-term friendships and have also re-united with some past friends. I've used the site for networking both my writing, and building my friendship base.

My son, an avid skater and soccer player, uses MySpace to keep in touch with his friends both near and far. He spends most of his time designing his page and viewing the numerous videos clips available at MySpace TV.

MySpace offers unlimited entertainment, with its personal page design features, music and video downloads and instant messaging capabilities. MySpace adds new features often, so often that I can't keep up with all the added benefits the service offers. One of the recent additions is the ability to play a variety of games online with other MySpace members.

I've asked other people my age if they have a MySpace page. However many say no. They look at me with a puzzled look. They are under the impression that MySpace is for kids. In fact, MySpace is not for kids at all and you are supposed to be at least 18 years old to create an account.

MySpace is a great place to set up information to share with family members and close friends. You have the option to set your page to private so that personal information, such as family photos, can only be seen by individuals you add as your friends.

I would have to say that the greatest feature about MySpace is that it is free. You can create a space all about yourself, your likes, your dislikes, post all the photos you want, and use the site for networking; all for free. You may even use the site to meet other singles.
