How to Add a Professional Drawing Effect to Your Photo Using Photoshop CS
A Professional Effect Adding by Photographers that Give Different Look to Your Photo
Open you photo with Photoshop or any photo you need to apply this effect on .
- Apply this effect to your photo before adding the drawing effect :
IMAGE>Adjustment>Auto level .
" This level effect is to modify photos which is already taken from a cam or a photo with wrong colors , This effect actually working on the photo colors by modifying the color values of the corrupted color pixels using a mathematical histogram “.
Take a look at the attached Photo .
Step#2:
Duplicate your photo layer :
LAYER > DUPLICATE LAYER , or just drag the photo layer to the new layer icon in layers pallet .
- select the new layer and apply this filter
Filter>BLUR>GAUSSIAN BLUR .
In the filter dialog box add 3 pixels to the radius .
“ This filter actually is a normal blurring filter but with more blur depth to the photo , we apply this filter to normally fixing the photo resolution . “
- In the layer pallet , with the new layer selected , select Overlay mode from the Layer mode list in the layer pallet .
Take a look at the attached Photo .
Step#3:
Duplicate The first layer once more - LAYER > DUPLICATE LAYER , or just dragg the photo layer to the new layer icon in layers pallet .
Then move the new duplicated layer to the top of all layers by dragging it to be in the top .
- Add this filter FILTER>BLUR>SMART BLUR
add 3.0 to the radius filed , 25.0 to the Threshold
Select Low in Quality List and Normal from mode list
“ This filter is also a normal blurring filter but with smarter options that enable us to modifying the blurring depth , radius and threshold , Actually this filter is doing 70 % of all work we needs to add the drawing effect to our photo , thus this filter is well know between artistic , photographers and designers .
SMART BLUR is also great in case of low resolutions photos , and small photos when you need to stretch it up to twice it’s original size , so you can transform it and make it as bigger as you need then apply to it the smart blur filter “
- with the same layer selected , change the layer mode from normal to luminosity this time from the layer pallet .
