You will notice when you get to the personal preferences section of this article ala my top ten list for movies in the year 1992, that I did not put Dracula on there. Truly a good movie, but when it comes down to it I can never remember a damn thing from it except Keanu Reeves is in it and Gary Oldman looked like an old woman. There were some blood sucking topless women too if I recall. So, do not scoff at my number ten choice when many may miss Dracula and his sucking wondering why I picked a movie that many think just plain sucks.

The Top 10 Grossing Movies USA 1992
1. Aladdin
2. Home Alone 2
3. Batman Returns
4. Lethal Weapon 3
5. A Few Good Men
6. Sister Act
7. The Bodyguard
8. Wayne's World
9. Basic Instinct
10. Unforgiven

My top ten picks:

10.Kuffs: It may be an action movie with healthy doses of slapstick comedy, but re-watching it years later it still stands up as a guilty pleasure flick. Fun movie.

9.The Bodyguard: This Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston starring romantic thriller may be more known for the soundtrack, but it was a good movie. Watch it a few more times and perhaps you will replace the "I Will Always Love You" song memory with some foreplay involving a sword. (I think that was in that movie anyway ha ha.)

8.Wayne's World: Schwing!

7.The Last of the Mohicans: A slow drama, yet good stuff. As a younger guy I thou roughly enjoyed the tragic aspects of the ending.

6.Batman Returns: Danny Devito and Christopher Walken both stood out in this creepy Batman movie. Perhaps Tim Burton's movies with the Caped Crusader were sillier and more cartoony, but they were both still really good.

5.White Men Can't Jump: Drama and sports action with one of the 90's great biddy pairings Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.

4. Reservoir Dogs: Quentin Tarantino made his debut with this crime caper gone wrong. Wlel at least his successful debut, he did direct "My Best Friend's Birthday" before this. It is an example of simplicity, yet complexity in being able to tell an entertaining story in confined locations.

I am definitely in agreement with the majority of these films, especially in regards to "Unforgiven," "Last of the Mohicans," and "Wayne's World" among others. However, I avoid just about everything with Jean Claude Van Damme. Can't stand that guy.

Thanks for doing the leg work and eating lots of microwave popcorn to bring us this list. I'd give about half of them a second viewing.

Top grossing seems do seem to be a lot of stinkers in my book. Not a big Jean Claude fan here either.

Wow, was 1992 really that bad of a year for movies?
