Chase Daniel is set to return for his final year at Missouri. The Senior quarterback has been named as the Preseason Offensive Player of the year. Seven Tigers were selected to the preseason team. The other six players named were Jeremy Maclin, Chase Coffman, Colin Brown, Jeff Wolfert, William Moore, and Sean Weatherspoon. Moore and Weatherspoon are considered preseason All-Americans. Last year Mizzou finished 12-2 by defeating Arkansas 38-7 in the Cotton bowl. Only a loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game kept them from the BCS picture. The University claimed a BCS game and they lost to Missouri by 6 points in the season opener in St. Louis. They once again square off with the Illini in St. Louis on August 30th.

The Missouri Tiger schedule looks like this. August 30th Illinois, September 6th Southeast Missouri State at home. September 13th Nevada at home. September 20th Buffalo at home. They then travel to Nebraska to open their conference play on October 4th. Next up is Oklahoma State at home on October 11th. Missouri then travels to Austin, Texas to play Texas University on October 18th. On October 25th (Homecoming) they play Colorado. They open play in November on the 1st, with a game at Baylor. Their final home game is scheduled for November 8th against Kansas State. They then end the season with two road games. On November 15th they play Iowa State. Their final game of the season is against Kansas, in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium two weeks later on the 29th of November.

With a good season, Missouri could be playing in the conference title game on December 6th, That game will also be played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The head coach at Missouri is Gary Pinkel. He had his first season at Missouri in 2001. Last November, he was awarded with a new five year contract that keeps him as a coach through 2011. In the last 4 seasons Missouri is 28-20. Coach Pinkel has been involved in 14 bowl games during his coaching career. His record in those games is 10-4.

Man I love the zzou. I think this is the year the Tigers play in the BCS NC game. Chase is going to be a heisman finalist again and with the team's success I think he will get it. Pinkel is a great coach. Might just have to write him in on my presidential ballot this fall. If he can take Mizzou to prominence in 8 short years, imagine what he could do for America the next eight. Just Kidding. but then again? http://www.cafepress.com/triptothezzou
