If you don't know anything about tractor-trailers, or semis, rest assured you're not alone. Although most of us know someone who once drove, or does drive the big rig, most do not know much about them. Most do not know how they work, why they're out there, and how to negotiate the roadways with them. However, we all realize that ignorance is not bliss and yes, knowledge is power. Regardless of one's knowledge, or lack of it, concerning semis, it is safe to say most have their opinions of those big trucks. It's also safe to say that most of those opinions aren't good.

Like it or not, those big trucks are on the road with you and that is not going to change. It is amazing that there are so many people who don't understand so much as to why those big trucks are all over the place and why there are so many of them. The simple answer is that those trucks carry the vast majority of the products you consume and use every single day. Your clothes, your food, the car you're driving, and everything within your house from the shingles on the roof to the concrete in the foundation along with everything in between went from there to there on a truck. It is how it is done. Sure, the rail and train system transports goods across major distances (but not all of it, since trucks run from state to state all the time) but no train delivers to your favorite store or shopping center. The tractor-trailer delivers almost everything you consume or use, and more often than not, it was probably on several trucks before it made it to you.

Did You Know?
The stark difference between the driving education of the professional truck driver and the motoring public is so drastic that it is fair to describe it as irresponsibe on the part of those who govern the roadways.
