Methods for Sending Reiki or Energy Healing Over Any Distance

When studying Reiki and other healing modalities, the practitioner learns that besides hands-on treatments, it is actually possible to send healing energy via any distance. This does not require a phone, internet, or even deep meditation. The simple act of intent causes the energy to respond. Intent is very powerful, and it is the directive that the energy will follow.

How is distance energy healing done? In Reiki practice, when a practitioner is at level two or higher, he has learned a distance symbol. Drawing the distance symbol in the air, on paper, on hands, or simply saying the name of the distance symbol three times activates the intent to send distance Reiki. Next, the energy healer says or thinks the full name and location of the recipient for the energy. This tells the energy to whom it is being channeled. Again, it is the intent of the practitioner that is directing the energy to the specific person.

The method that the energy healer uses next could be a number of different things. One method is to hold the hands in the air, imagine the body shape of the recipient (or just a generic body shape), and "scan" down the "body," tuning in to any tingles, heat, cold, or magnetic sensations that would indicate that a particular body part or chakra is in need of Reiki. The practitioner will hold his hands at each of the places indicated until the feeling subsides, and then proceed to the next part of the body. If the person has a particular health or emotional issue, the practitioner can ask to be shown that part of the body or chakra, and channel the energy directly to that by intending it to go there.

Another method is to do a similar process using a teddy bear or doll as a "surrogate" for the recipient. The knee of the practitioner is also sometimes used, with the kneecap as "head", and the rest of the body from the kneecap to the thigh.
