Enzian Theatre in is the Hot Spot for the Arts in Orlando

The impressive Enzian Theatre bolsters the thriving arts community in Orlando. The theatre opened in 1985, and is regarded as the ultimate platform for Orlando area film festivals. Nearly 3,000 films have been shown at the Enzian. Each year the Florida Film Festival is held at the facility in Orlando. The festival is gaining worldwide attention in the art and theater circuit.

Enzian Theatre goers are now experiencing a revitalized atmosphere, with the new modern design of the inner areas of the building. A "Retire a Seat" program is in full swing, with all of section D seating being retired, and a new screen curtain and wall coverings will replace older décor. Supporters can have their names placed on the new section D chairs by donating to the project. Seating at the Enzian now includes large comfortable chairs, and colorful loveseats. Donations for the "Retire a Seat" program range from $500 for a single chair, to $5,000 for a table of four set.

Adding to the overall experience of watching a movie at the Enzian is the full menu of casual dining options. Executive Chef Josh Oakley even accepts suggestions on menu items. Menu items include gourmet sandwiches, unique pizzas, desserts, appetizers, and rich blends of coffee. Steak tacos are one of the most popular items on the menu. Organic teas and the black and tan gelato dessert are also among the favorites of theatre fans. Menu prices are moderate, with sandwich platters ranging in price from $8.50-$14 per meal Enzian also offers a patio bar, with the Cadillac Margaritas and Mojitos being among the specialty drinks served.

The Florida Film Festival is held each March at the Enzian Theatre. Approximate crowds of 20,000 typically attend the growing event. Enzian also offers smaller film festivals throughout the year, including: South Asian Film Festival, Central Florida Jewish Film Festival, and the Gay Orlando Film Festival. Enzian staff and volunteers network year around with community and cultural groups to develop new programming ideas. The Orlando Lesbian and Gay Film Series recently celebrated their 10th season at the theatre.
