When we think of sports, or games, which require psychology, we usually will think of a poker game. Card games are not the only game where psychology comes into play. When it comes to tennis, psychology, this merely understands you opponent’s mind, and setting your game plan accordingly. In order to be successful at tennis psychology, you must first have a great understanding you your own psyche. Essentially, you must put yourself in your opponent’s place. If you think about it, you react differently depending on your mood at the time, and the prevailing conditions. The vary things which would result in irritation, pleasure, or confusion, to name a few, is what you will use against your own opponent.

If doing this interrupts you concentration, strive to ignore it. After you have discovered your own reactions to certain occurrences, experiment with your opponent’s reactions. If both you as well as your opponent have the same temperament, you will know how to use this to your advantage.

If you understand you own mental process first, there is a good chance you will develop the skill to read others. Everybody’s mind works along the same lines of thought, thus they can be studied. If you study your own mental process, you will in return be able to control it.
