A friend and I went to Mashpee Commons for the first time last week. Located on Routes 28 and 151 in Mashpee, Massachusetts I was truly impressed with this huge complex. One aspect that really impressed me was the parking and the ease of getting around both on foot and in the car. Unlike, for example, the Wrentham Outlets in Wrentham, MA which has a parking lot and then the shopper has to walk and walk, Mashpee Commons is not closed off to traffic. I could park anywhere I wanted with no time limit and had no problem finding a parking space. The sidewalks are handicapped accessible and wide enough that I never felt that the Commons were crowded. The stores there are terrific. You'll find names such as Talbot's, New Balance, Banana Republic, J.Crew, Chico's, and Coldwater Creek. There are businesses in this complex as well which was the intent of the original builders- to mix stores with office space. Some of the restaurants include Asia, Starbucks and gourmet candy stores. My friend and I headed right to my favorite store, Coldwater Creek. After we were done shopping we walked just around the corner to find a real gem called Bobby Byrnes Restaurant & Pubs.
This restaurant has locations in Hyannis and Sandwich on Cape Cod as well.
The inside of Bobby Byrnes is very pretty with blue décor and a mix of tables and booths. A gas fireplace, which wasn't on during this heat wave, added a cozy touch. There was a large bar with chairs around it and a couple of televisions. By the time we went to eat it was post lunch. The inside of Bobby Byrnes was very quiet but it was hopping outside on the patio tables where we ate. The crew there was very pleasant and seemed excited when I took pictures and told them I was going to review this terrific restaurant.
Bobby Byrnes has an extensive menu that will appeal to everyone including children 12 and under who can get a mini burger and fries for $3.95 or grilled cheese for the same amount. You'll find a nice assortment of soups; 14 appetizers in the $8.00 range; sandwiches, wraps, steaks, fish and all sorts of chicken dishes.
