My Computer Shuts Down Forever

My computer was upset with me.
It wanted to just shut down.
But I had too much to write about,
So the keys I decided to pound.

Error messages soon appeared.
"Your computer is at grave risk.
If you don't turn me off right away,
You're going to suffer with a slipped disk."

But I wasn't going to let my computer
Talk to me like that.
I went to my email
And started to have a chat.

"Now listen Mr. Computer,
I'm not done with you tonight.
I've just got a few more things to say,
So please let me do it, all right?"

"Your time is up," said my computer.
"Seize your activity at once.
Or else I'll delete all your files
And have them for my lunch."

"Don't threaten me," I said in anger.
"I'll toss you in the trash.
"You better show some respect for me
Or your usefulness will not last."

My computer sent one final message.
"Your programs are being wiped clean.
Your computer is of no further use to you
Because you've been so mean."

And just like that, my computer died.
It never came on again.
I sat in utter disbelief
Knowing this was the end."

Today I read a lot of books.
I play games and go for walks.
I have no computer in my house
To bother me with its talk.
