Read my poetry when I have vanished from your sight.
It will tell you about the person you never had time to really know.
It will lend insight into my heart.
The words will unlock my soul
and grant passage into my mind.
You will embrace the love and joy of me.
You will wither in the pain and suffering I have felt.
You will bathe in my rejection, lonliness and fears.
You will frolick in the childlike wonder of my curiosity.
You will feel the innocence and tenderness slip away
like a silk garment fallen to the floor.
You will hear the silent cries of a soul besieged by pain.
You will taste the bitter fruit that lingers on my palate.
Then you will truly know me
better than those who claim to love me.
You will know me because
you took the time to listen
to the words of my soul.
