I think that the fox hunting tradition in the UK should be ended because I consider it cruelty to animals.

I do not know the exact details about fox hunting but, based on what I have seen and read, a fox hunt consists of a fox being released into the woods and men on horseback following the trail left by their hound dogs that are hunting the fox.

Some people say that fox hunting is okay because the fox is not killed - at least not usually. These people are not thinking of what the fox is really going through. Sure, the fox might not be killed but I guarantee that the fox thinks that it is going to be killed and so the chase that is done is one of a run for its life type of deal for the fox.

As the fox is being chased, its heart is probably pounding in fear for its own life. Think of how scared the fox is. The fox probably has never felt so much fear in its life and wishes it was dead. Not only is the fox's heart pounding in fear, it is probably also pounding from the real physical exertion, which it ordinarily does not have to go through.

Imagine yourself in the fox's position. You are carried out to the edge of the woods in a cage, not knowing where you are or why you are there. Your cage is opened and you are released into the wild. You think that you are free to go and you start to run away but then, suddenly, you hear and see a pack of wild dogs chasing after you. What do you do? You run for your life, as fast as you can.

Your heart starts beating like crazy and you feel like you're having a heart attack. The strenuous exertion that you must use almost spontaneously for the first time in a while without exercise puts you in a bad place. All of your muscles and joints are aching but you must keep on running or you will be caught. The pain is unbearable but, you have to keep on running no matter what.

You do not know why you are being chased or what will happen if you get caught. You suspect the worst and believe that you will be killed, if you are caught.

You run and run for your life but, it is no use. A large group of men on horses and a pack of wild dogs surround you and you are caught. You prepare to be killed by unknown strangers for an unknown reason.

I agree with you that this should not be allowed. It's unfortunate that there are people that view this sport as fun and entertaining. Great article!
