By now most people are familiar with Heely's, a very popular skate shoe that kids have been wearing in droves for the last several years. Kids wearing Heely's are easy to spot and commonly seen just about everywhere these days including malls, grocery stores, movie theatres, and yes, even at Disneyland. Kids wearing Heely's at Disneyland is a hot topic for some people who stand solidly on one side or the other of the debate concerning whether or not kids should be permitted to ride Heely's throughout the park. Additionally, Disneyland has an official position on the subject. So how do guests feel about Heely's at Disneyland, and what is Disneyland doing about it? Read on to find out.

Officially, Disneyland does not allow Heely's to be ridden inside the park. It is stated in their rules of park use, and Disneyland Cast Members will sometimes tell guests to stop rolling on their Heely's if they see them riding them, as will Disneyland security. However, Disneyland Cast Members will also often ignore the infraction, saying nothing to the offending rider. After all, Disneyland is supposed to be the happiest place on earth and likely doesn't want to put guests off by barking rules at them.

Parents who allow their children to bring Heely's into Disneyland and ride them around in the park are perfectly happy that the Disneyland Cast Members are keeping their rule enforcement to themselves. Surely they don't want anyone telling them what to do or to be burdened with the silly notion that the rules actually apply to them in the same way they apply to everyone else.

This combination of Disneyland employees not enforcing the "no rolling" rule and parents of Heely wearing offspring not respecting the rules in the first place, leads to a less than ideal situation for the tens of thousands of guests who wear regular shoes to Disneyland every day. It is these guests who get run into by the kids wearing Heely's who don't know how to stop yet. It is these guests who nearly get knocked over as kids on Heely's zoom by, their parents far behind.
