With the cost of gas rising many families are canceling their vacation plans to stay at home. We are also seeing a large variety of promotions featuring free gas gift cards. So why is it that I am not surprised when I found that many hotels, resorts, and other attractions are offering guests free gas cards for visiting their business.

Marriott Hotels

The Marriott Hotel chains are offering special deals at a few of their hotels that feature the inclusion of free gas cards.

For example, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Whitemarsh in Baltimore, Maryland offers a $50 free gas card at checkout when you stay the weekend in their hotel. The package also includes complimentary wireless internet and a complimentary breakfast buffet. This offer is available only through August 24th, and the promotional code for this offer is TRS. You can learn more about the promotion on Marriott's website, http://www.marriott.com/specials/mesOffer.mi?marrOfferId=343881&displayLink=true.

The Courtyard by Marriott in Bellevue, Washington has a special entitled "Cars Eat Free" which includes a $50 Chevron gas card and breakfast for two. The promotion is supposed to be valid through May of 2009 and you can learn more about it on the hotel's website, http://www.marriott.com/specials/mesOffer.mi?marrOfferId=343881&displayLink=true.

The Explore California package is a little more flexible in that you can stay at any participating Marriott hotel in Southern California Thursday night through Sunday night and receive a free $25 gas gift card for each night stayed. This package is available through the end of 2008, and the promotional code for this package is ZZ1. You can find out more about the package by visiting Marriott's website, http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-deals.mi?offerInfo=321840&marshaCode=SNAPL.
