Disneyland may be the happiest place on earth, but it certainly isn't the cheapest. Those planning a trip to Disneyland quickly realize this long before they ever make it into the park. And although there is a fair amount of information out there concerning how guests can save money once they are inside Disneyland, the best opportunities for saving the most money when it comes to your trip to Disneyland are found during the planning process. Consider the suggestions here to see if you can use any of them to save money on your Disneyland trip while you are still in the planning stages. For savings on admission tickets, do a bit of shopping around. If your goal is to save money, never wait until you are at Disneyland to purchase tickets. The tickets sold on the premises are significantly more expensive than those purchased online. You can purchase your Disneyland tickets in advance on the Disneyland California website. The process is easy and fast. For further savings, you may want to consider AAA. Also, purchasing Disneyland tickets through Ares Travel will save you about $5 per ticket. And although this doesn't sound like much, the amount adds up quickly when purchasing multiple tickets.
For savings on hotel rates, it's really important to start as early as possible to save the most money. The rates for the three hotels that are located on the Disneyland property are very high. Fortunately, for those wanting to save money, there are many hotels located off the property but still very nearby. Many are within walking distance, and the rest are just a short drive away. For the best rates, plan your visit during the off season. If you must really stretch your vacation dollars thin, consider the Super 8 Motel located at 915 S. Disneyland Dr. in Anaheim. It's a very basic motel, but you can almost always find rates of about $60 per night, even in high season. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Disneyland tram, and driving to the Disneyland parking structure from the Super 8 takes about 90 seconds. Rooms at the Super 8 have a fridge and microwave and if you get to the office early enough in the mornings, you can even grab some free donuts.
