Displaying cards can be somewhat of a challenge. Do you tape them to the mantle? Tuck them behind molding to hold them up? Forget all of that! Make a cheap and easy card display from a Pringles can and you'll proudly show off cards from holidays or any occasion with ease. No one wants a card display that says "Pringles". Glue fabric or fancy paper onto the outer surface of the can and you instantly change the look to something much more impressive than a potato chip can. You can glue roping or ribbon onto the top and bottom edges to cover the raw edges of the fabric.
Rubber bands will work to hold your cards to the can. Thin, colored rubber bands stretch easily over the can and add a punch of color to the mix. Use all one color of the rubber bands or add a variety of colors to the can.
You'll stretch the rubber bands over the top of the can, down the sides, and across the bottom. Do this again and again, placing the second rubber band beside the first, then the third beside the second, and so on, until the can is covered in rubber bands. When viewing the top or the bottom of the can you should see a web of rubber bands cris-crossing each other. Add as many or as few rubber bands as you wish.
To hang the cards on the card display simply scoot the card behind the rubber band and align the rubber band so that it goes down the fold of the card. Hang one card on each rubber band, all the way around the can. The cards fan out and make a beautiful display that lets visitors easily view each card.
If you want, you can add "feet" to the bottom of the can so that it stands taller and keeps the cards from brushing the table. Blocks of wood, large beads, or even tiny, empty spools will work well as legs. There are other embellishments you can add to the can, too, such as jewels or a can topper.
A Styrofoam ball, covered in glitter glue, can become the topper for the can. Simply remove lid of the Pringles can and glue the glitter ball on top. There are any number of things you can use as the can topper, after you've added all the rubber bands.
